Accuvein AV 500

The New AccuVein AV500 Redefines the Standard

Clinically Proven IV Access Solution: AccuVein® Vein visualization Device,

It is a portable device using vein imaging technology, designed to help healthcare professionals find and evaluate appropriate veins for safe and efficient IV access, even in patients with difficult venous access.

This extremely easy to use vein imaging device has been clinically proven to increase the success of first access by 98%.

Green vein projection

It shows veins both as dark lines on a bright background and as light lines (inverted mode) on a dark background. AV500; It features a small, hand-held design and a unique laser camera projector that enables focus projection at all times. It also allows permanent alignment.

All other projection vessel systems require preventive maintenance to keep them aligned. Best of all, the AV500 uses a low-power Class 1 laser that ensures eye safety without the need for any special protective equipment.

The bright OLED display shows current device status using large icons, easy to read and understand.

AccuVein For

IV Acces

Starting an IV is a difficult skill requiring considerable practice.  On average, it takes between two to three attempts to establish a patent peripheral IV site, and it’s been reported that difficult IV access occurs in ED patients 10% to 30% of the time.

On patients with difficult venous access, finding a vein is challenging for even the most experienced nurse or doctor.  Patients who are elderly, obese, dark-skinned, hypovolemic, have a history of IV drug use, or have chronic illness present unique problems to finding an appropriate vein to start an IV.

The AccuVein® Vein Finder facilitates the IV procedure and improves patient care.

Blood Draw

The AccuVein helps perform blood draws by projecting a map of the peripheral veins on the skin, thereby simplifying the task of locating the point of needle placement. The device has been found to increase first stick success and catheter dwell time while reducing patient pain and reduce procedure time.

Surgery Centers

Locating veins is critical for many medical procedures that require vein access or avoidance. These procedures include IV starts, blood draw, sclerotherapy, general and cosmetic surgery. AccuVein is the industry leading vein illumination device that facilitates locating peripheral vasculature by displaying a map of the vasculature directly on the patient’s skin.
The Cost of Failed Attempts
Of all invasive medical procedures, venipuncture is the most common and these venipuncture attempts can fail. As a result:
  • Intravenous therapy may not begin promptly;
  • Surgeries can be delayed due to a lack of access;
  • Physician intervention to access a difficult vein can erode productivity;
  • Patients may endure unnecessary needlesticks and additional discomfort;
  • Patients may bruise or develop a hematoma, requiring additional healing time without optimal placement of incision site or injection;
  • Stress may increase for both patients and staff.

By using vein illumination with AccuVein’s breakthrough device, many veins that might be otherwise undetectable without a vein locator, can be located and mapped on the patient’s skin.

In surgery centers keeping on schedule is a very important task. The use of vein illumination can help avoid delays by helping to reduce the number of sticks needed to gain IV access. In addition to using the device to locate, assess and access the vasculature for IV starts or blood draw, the device can also be used to avoid veins. Vein avoidance with surgical application can help reduce bruising, bleeding and improve patient satisfaction by allowing the surgeon to choose optimal incision sites. In fact, in Robotic Assisted Radical Prostatectomy (RARP) procedures, use of the AccuVein device was found to improve trocar placement and ultimately reduce the incidence of body wall hematomas.

Imaging Centers

In imaging centers it can be a necessity of the procedure to gain venous access to administer contrast dye. Access to veins can therefore mean the difference between being able to do the imaging at the time scheduled or having to reschedule the appointment. And sending patients away can have negative implications for facilities, and for patients.

Cosmetic Procedures

The AccuVein is an absolute game changer.

“It gives my patients great comfort to know that they are receiving an even higher level of care and peace of mind that they will not be left with embarrassing telltale signs of a visit to their plastic surgeon.” Dr. Scott Wells, Park Avenue New York

The most common of all invasive medical procedures is vein puncture, and these vein puncture attempts may fail. As a result:
  • Intravenous therapy may not begin immediately;
  • Delays and rescheduling of procedures may be caused by a lack of venous access;
  • Stress can increase for both patients and staff;
  • Patients may eventually need to be sent, resulting in lost revenue.

Improving Patient Outcomes

AccuVein can help in cosmetic procedures to:
  • Locate and avoid veins
  • Minimize bruising
  • Reduce healing time by optimizing site selection
  • Improve patient satisfaction
  • Detect many veins that cannot be detected by any other technique or method.
