Headquartered in the UK, Flexicare is a major supplier to the NHS and private institutions in the UK, as well as having an international presence in over 105 countries through its appointed distributors.
Flexicare bought the Netherlands-based Medisize company and continued its production with the Medisize brand.
Medisize offers products for the fields of anesthesia, intensive care, neonatal care, emergency medicine, home care and radiology. Specialized in "filtration and humidification", the company produces high quality breathing filters / HME, tracheostomy HME, breathing circuits, ventilators, anesthesia masks, oxygen & aerosol therapy products and IV sets.
With the Medisize HME-Booster® Active Humidification system, water only passes through the hydrophobic membrane when it evaporates, thus moisturizing process becomes easier and safer. The water entering through the Luer connection evaporates in a controlled manner, passes through the membrane of the patent Flexicare and is included in the patient circuit. It removes the "droplet or water puddle" effect seen in other systems and provides feedback to the user about the state of the heater with the lights on the heat adapter.
